The conference program for HavExpo 2026 is ready

The conference program for HavExpo 2026 is now out. Over two days, you will receive more than 100 lectures divided into two halls – with current topics within aquaculture, fisheries, technology, production and sustainability.

HavExpo is the most important meeting place for the seafood industry in Western Norway – and the conference is a central part of this.

From climate requirements to artificial intelligence

The program is broad. Topics include battery regulation for aquaculture vessels, climate requirements for Norwegian aquaculture vessels, biosecurity in practice, deep-sea operations, closed production at sea, Norwegian fisheries in a historical perspective and much more.

In addition, there will be a number of posts about technology development, efficient operations and how the industry can meet new demands and expectations in the years to come.

– We must build knowledge about the fishing industry

Monica Langeland is one of the speakers at this year's conference. She is currently working on the book "Fisheries" - an introduction to the Norwegian fishing industry. The book covers both the most important fisheries and suppliers on land. Monica is passionate about how we can strengthen knowledge about the fishing industry in society.

– The audience should listen to my speech because we are completely dependent on increasing the knowledge of fisheries among the general public. Otherwise, I believe both the framework conditions and the reputation could become significantly worse. It is time to take some action, says Langeland.

She believes HavExpo is a natural arena for raising such topics.

– HavExpo is the largest meeting place for the seafood industry in Western Norway – an ideal place to both nurture existing relationships and build new ones.

From technical knowledge to scalable practice

Ole Kristian Sivertsen from AKVA group will give a lecture on how artificial intelligence can elevate feeding from subject-based cutting-edge expertise to a more scalable operating model.

Developments in AI make it possible to systematize experience and knowledge in new ways. The goal is to strengthen both profitability and sustainability – while maintaining the professional understanding that underlies good operations.

The lecture will show how technology can contribute to better decision-making, more precise feeding and more efficient production.

An experienced conference speaker

The conference is led by Tormod Løvold, actor at Den Nationale Scene. This spring he will be on stage in the play Armauer Hansen at Marineholmen in Bergen. In 2025 he received the Pernille Prize, and he has extensive experience from theater improvisation and the humor community in Bergen.

With his communication skills and stage presence, he will tie the program together over two eventful days.

The conference program shows the breadth of the industry – here you will get everything from historical perspectives to information about the most forward-looking technology. HavExpo 2026 will be an arena for professional replenishment, discussions and new impulses.
